Sanjay Gupta is a renowned expert on major developments in medicine, personal health and healthcare. A practicing neurosurgeon, Sanjay is a multiple Emmy-award winning chief medical correspondent for CNN, playing an integral role in the network's lead reporting on breaking medical news, providing regular health reports for premiere programming and documentaries, and anchoring the weekend medical affairs show Sanjay Gupta.
During his tenure at CNN, Sanjay has covered some of the world’s most historic and significant events: the attacks of 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, the 2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia, the 2010 devastating earthquake in Haiti and tsunami ravaged Japan in 2011. He also served as an embedded reporter with the U.S. Navy’s medical unit in Iraq, performing life-saving brain surgery five times himself.
