Chetan Bhagat is a renowned Indian youth icon, author, screenwriter, and columnist. Time magazine named him as one of the “100 Most Influential People in the World 2010”, Fast company as one of the “100 most Creative People in Business 2011”, Forbes India as one of the “Top 100 Celebrities of India 2012”, and India Today included him in the “Power List 2013”.
Bhagat is the author of five bestselling novels, ‘Five Point Someone’ (2004), ‘One Night @ the Call Center’ (2005), ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life’ (2008), ‘2 States’ (2009) & ‘Revolution 2020: Love, Corruption, Ambition’ (2011). All five books have remained bestsellers since their release and two have inspired Bollywood films (including the hit film 3 Idiots). In 2008, The New York Times called Bhagat "the biggest selling English language novelist in India's history". He has sold over 7 million books, which have been translated into 15 languages.
Bhagat also writes op-ed columns for English and Hindi newspapers, including The Guardian, The Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar, focusing on youth, career and issues based on national development.
He is a very popular motivational speaker and has spoken at more than 100 organisations in more than 75 cities around the world. He speaks at corporates, educational institutes, government bodies and volunteer agencies. He shares his thoughts and experiences on topics such as leadership, passion, values, team building, motivation, and achieving goals.
He had been working as an investment banker in Hong Kong for 11 years at Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank, before moving to Mumbai to pursue his passion for writing. Bhagat is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, and IIM Ahmedabad.
