Matthew Price is the Chief Correspondent for BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. He presents the programme and covers the major stories for Today – as well as for the BBC’s flagship BBC1 television bulletins – and is taking a lead in innovating the corporation’s digital offerings.

Price has worked at the BBC for two decades, and as a foreign correspondent has lived in and reported from around the world, across the Middle East, the Americas, and Europe. As Middle East Correspondent he covered the Iraq war in 2003, the Lebanon war in 2006, and Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza. As Belgrade Correspondent he covered the trial of the murdered Serbian prime minister Zoran Djindjic. In 2007 he moved to New York where he covered the collapse of Lehman brothers and the subsequent credit crisis. He followed John McCain on the campaign trail in the 2008 presidential election.

Most recently his work has focused on the migration crisis in Europe – he’s reported across the continent on this ongoing story, from Lampedusa, the Greek islands, eastern Europe and elsewhere. As Europe correspondent he reported from Brussels and beyond as the Eurozone crisis ripped through country after country.
